Filipino Youth Servant Leaders animated by the Salesian youth Spirituality, deeply rooted in faith and culture, and empowered to become agents of transformation in Church and society through solidarity, love for life, co-responsibility and gratuitous service.

 

   We commit ourselves to formulate and carry out a systematic leadership formation program that will assist the SYM leaders to be equipped with the necessary concepts, skills and attitudes so as to be effective leaders in their groups, and active co-responsible citizens of our society.

 

  • A person who is committed to journey towards deeper self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-mastery.

  • A baptized Christian on the road to a deepening relationship with Christ, schooled in the Salesian Youth Spirituality and espousing the values of the Preventive System.

  • An active and co-responsible member of a Salesian school oratory, youth center, parish, dormitory and other Salesian settings, who also recognizes his/her membership to a larger community – the Church and society.

  • A person who continues to undergo formation on relevant concepts, values and skills.

 

 

  • The members need to be formed: educated, trained and guided. Formation may be directed to the individual to certain sectors and to the group at large.

  • It may take the form of REFLECTION, STUDY, LECTURES, WORKSHOPS, INTERACTION AND EXPOSURE.

 

  • The members need to reach out in love: to feel someone close at the side, standing by.

  • It takes the form of LEADERSHIP STRUCTURES AND PROCESS, COMMUNICATION NETWORKS & FINANCIAL PROCEDURES AS WELL AS FRIENDSHIP, GAMES, GATHERINGS.

 

  • The members need to express themselves, in joy and in sorrow, with fear and courage.

  • It takes the form of PRAYER & LITURGY, as well as grand moments like RECITALS, STAGE PLAYS, CAMPS, EXHIBITION.

 

  • The members need to reach out to others through responsible work of service.

  • It takes the form of APOSTOLATE, REACH-OUT PROGRAM, SHARING, COMMITMENTS IN PARISH or LOCAL COMMUNITIES.
